Pulmonology is a subspecialty of internal medicine concerned with diseases of the lungs and bronchial tubes. This often involves the upper respiratory tract (nose, pharynx and throat)—as well as the heart.

Pulmonologists usually treat complex pulmonary problems such as asthma, emphysema, cough, Sarcoma, tuberculosis, complicated infections of the chest, injury, and complications of respiratory diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Onslow Memorial Hospital has expanded our offerings to the community by opening Onslow Pulmonology Associates, where we take a whole-patient approach, specializing in pulmonology and sleep medicine for adults.
